Before the rain.

Yesterday I went outside to check on the chickens and, as usual, grabbed my camera. But once I got outside I thought to myself, "Hmm...I sure I am putting a lot of pictures of chickens on my blog. I wonder if anyone is tired of looking at chickens? Maybe I should take pictures of something else today." (I mean, I never get tired of looking at my chickens. I love the chickens. Seriously. And my husband loves the chickens. It's a bit silly, really, just how much we've taken to these dang chickens.) I also thought to myself, "If I keep posting so many pictures of my sweet, cute and feisty chickens I'm going to have to change the name of my blog to 'Give a Girl a Chicken'." And really...it just doesn't have the same je ne c'est quoi that Give a Girl a Fig does...
Given that I didn't want to change the name of my blog, I opted to take photos of my garden. This is a photo of the lobelia in my pot of rosemary. I like lobelia. It's pretty. Easy to grow. And adds a bit of color.
Just as I was snapping the first photo I noticed a certain someone hovering around hoping for a photo op.
Can you see him? In the bottom left corner?
There he is...moving in a little closer.

"Is this my good side?"
