Oh, I use to grow these violets in TX. Kind of a tradition... my aunt and grandmother grew these, too.
My house is empty today except for one child and a lovely quiet playmate, so for me.... rain, fire in the wood stove, baking bread, cooking some soup, reading blogs, silence! I love it! ( I hope to curl up with some books and catch up on reading today since Sunday will be extra busy this time!)
It's Saturday and we are waiting for the rain. I just woke upp from the most delicious nap..yes, it is a great day.

flowers in the front yard right now would be so lovely. we got old snow and chicken plops. not as pretty as your wood violet. sigh.
Beautiful! Will be a long while before we see any here. Got another 9 inches this weekend. Spent the weekend cross country skiing for the first time. I think I need a body cast..
